CAB-oom gives students a chance for fun before finals

Students blew off steam before finals at this year’s CAB-oom, which stretched from Downing University Center to South Lawn.

Hundreds of students turned out for the campus takeover event on Thursday, and had a chance to zip-line down Avenue of Champions.

Madisonville sophomore Joey Tiberi said he zip-lined for the first time at the event.

“The zip-line was definitely the best part,” he said. “The whole thing was kind of unexpected out of WKU, but pretty awesome.”

Other activities included a rock climbing wall, a net jungle gym and combat inflatables such as The Wrecking Ball and a boxing ring.

Rachel Pierce, a senior from Big Clifty, said she enjoyed the event.

“You know, anything inflatable is fun, and I like seeing all the kids and dogs here,” she said

Pierce also said she thinks it’s a good way for students to de-stress before finals.

“Everybody loves a party,” she said.

Lexington senior Sierra Mattingly said she liked the community aspect.

“My favorite part is all of the students being on campus together and interacting, and just seeing it be so alive,” she said

Samantha Fiducci, Belleville, Mich. sophomore, said she was really surprised by the amount of activities.

“I was really glad that we finally had some awesome things to do on campus,” she said.

“It was definitely a highlight in my WKU experience,” she said.
