Board of Regents committee meetings Friday
December 11, 2012
The Board of Regents will hold committee meetings this Friday.
Patti Minter, Faculty Regent, said there is one item that will be new to her at the Board of Regents committee meetings.
“Of course there’s certainly an item I haven’t seen yet — the Petrino contract,” Minter said.
All of the big-ticket contracts go through the executive committee to be presented to the full board in January, Minter said. Only executive members vote on those.
There is an information item on the agenda for the executive committee that deals with preparations for the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.
“There’s also an intellectual property policy coming forward,” Minter said.
Minter said intellectual property proposals haven’t made it to the floor the two other times they have been proposed.
The action item regards approval of revisions to the university’s intellectual property policy.
As for the considerable number of items on the agenda regarding financial budget updates, Minter said she doesn’t think any of the action items related to finance will cause a stir.
“It’ll be interesting to see if any of those generate discussion,” Minter said.
Action items for the finance and budget committee include acceptance of an auditor’s report and financial statements for the fiscal year ended on June 30, 2012, acceptance of the 2012-2013 first quarter statement of revenues and expenditures, approval of fiscal year 2013 operating budget revisions, approval of personnel actions and approval of the internal audit work plan for Jan. 1, 2013, to June 30, 2013.
Minter said the first quarterly meeting each year in January deals with new budget revisions.
On the agenda for the Academic Affairs committee are action items involving approval of a floristry undergraduate minor, approval of emeritus faculty appointments and approval of sabbatical leaves. There will also be an enrollment report.
