Junior left-hander Tanner Perkins is done for the season.

Perkins will have season-ending Tommy John surgery next week to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL), Head Coach Matt Myers said on Friday after WKU’s loss to Arkansas Little-Rock.

Perkins made four starts this season, posting a 3.22 ERA over 22 1/3 innings while recording 14 strikeouts and only walking five.

The former Rockcastle County High School standout went 7-4 one year ago with a Sun Belt Conference-best 2.36 ERA.

Perkins will still have two years of eligibility left when he returns, Myers said.
