Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n’ Bake Pizza opened a location at 2945 Scottsville Road recently. The chain sells customized pizzas, which customers can take home and bake in the oven,.

“Most pizzas cook in 12 to 18 minutes,” owner and operator Seth Woodward said.

He said the store gives a choice of a variety of freshly cut and prepared toppings such as pepperoni and black olives along with dough that is made daily at the store.

“Nothing comes in prepared on a truck,” Woodward said.

The store also sells cheesy bread, cinnamon wheels and cookie dough that is ready to bake.

The pizzas are made to the customer’s instructions and then packaged onto oven-safe cardboard.

“You can pop it right into the oven,” Woodward said.

Baking instructions are included with the products.

Woodward said what makes Papa Murphy’s so unique is the options it offers to its customers.

“They can enjoy (the pizzas) at home whenever they want to,” he said. “They don’t have to worry about it getting cold before they even get home.”

Woodward said the pizzas can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking and may be frozen to last longer.

Papa Murphy’s has about 30 stores across Kentucky, but this is the first store in Bowling Green, he said.
