Local boutique promotes breast cancer awareness through bracelets

Bowling Green’s newest boutique, Apricot Lane, will be selling specially designed, pink bracelets in support of Breast Cancer Awareness this month.
The bracelets are available for purchase at the store and cost about $20 to $26, said Michelle Payne, manager of Apricot Lane.
The leather bracelets are made by Humanity, a fashion company focused on giving support to non-profits around the world, according the company’s website.
Payne said that 50 percent of the sales will go to the Breast Cancer Society.
“We’re just trying to pick something close to our hearts,” she said. “We want to give back to the community.”
Apricot Lane opened on Oct. 14, and Payne said the store hopes to sponsor more events that support a good cause.
“We’re looking to focus on a few charities,” she said.
The boutique is located in Greenwood Mall at 2625 Scottsville Road.
Bradley Grider, a senior from Brentwood, Tenn., said he thinks the bracelets are a good way to support Breast Cancer awareness.
“Fighting cancer is cool,” he said. “And so are the bracelets.”
