Qualifications to be collected

ttorneys involved in the case of a man charged with the rape and murder of a Pellville freshman in May 2003 want to be sure qualified experts testify in the upcoming trial.

The qualifications of experts who might be called to testify in the trial of Lucas B. Goodrum of Scottsville in March will be collected in no more than 10 days.

Goodrum’s trial is set to begin March 8 in Warren County Circuit Court.

Melissa “Katie” Autry was raped, sodomized and set on fire in her Poland Hall dorm room in May 2003. She died three days later from third degree burns at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

David Broderick, Goodrum’s attorney, asked for information from the Commonwealth Attorney’s office about the qualifications of Nashville experts who worked on the case. He said the information had been previously requested.
