Rivalry game on national television
College Sports Television will air the Eastern-Western football game Saturday in selected areas. In Bowling Green, the game will air on Insight Channel 5. In Louisville, it will be shown on Insight Channel 2.
Freshman golfer leads fourth place finish
Freshman Jena Kissinger carded a final round 78 to move from 22nd place to 12th. She led for Western players who finished in the top 25. Senior Sarah Lilly finished tied for 18th after going 84-83-167.
Junior Jennifer Taylor left the clubhouse tied for 21st after closing with an 83. And freshman Alex Gennicks finished tied for 25th.
Men’s golf finishes 14th
Senior Brandon Weaver led the Toppers with a 1-under par 215 in the Mean Green Classic Tuesday in Denton, Texas. Weaver’s final round 75 was also a career low. Weaver placed fourth in the tournament.
As a team, Western finished with a score of 898, good for 14th out of 16 teams.
Robby Shaw and Brent Long were Western’s other top golfers in the event. Shaw shot 224 to give him a tie for 39th. Long finished 59th with a score of 228.
