Too Much Time

[email protected]

I am writing in response to Philip Campbell’s letter, Slogans don’t represent all students. Over three weeks ago I was walking home from the Preston Center when out of the corner of my eye I caught one of the many sidewalk chalk signs that grace our beautiful campus. This on stated, “Saddam Loves You.” Needless to say I had had to take another look to see if what I thought I saw was real. Unfortunately my first impression was correct. Do the people who write these slogans have too much time on their hands? Are they board? Or did they just run out of pages in their coloring books and decide among themselves to color Western Kentucky University. It simply confuses me beyond belief at some of the statements I see on a day to day basis. One more liberal slogan that really made me laugh just based on the fact that whoever wrote it thought they would be funny was, “If a hornet stings you and you kill it, does it make the pain go away?” I would like to answer it by saying no it doesn’t, but it makes me feel a hell of a lot better knowing that it won’t sting me again.
