The Lady Topper tennis team returns to Bowling Green with a winning record (8-6) in singles play after competing in the Butler Invitational in Indianapolis, Indiana on Oct. 2-3.

The red and white competed against host Butler as well as Dayton and IUPUI. Notable performances included sophomore Samantha Martinez’s perfect 3-0 weekend in singles and freshman Rachel Hermanova closing out the weekend with a 2-1 singles record in her first collegiate competition. 

“We had another great weekend and got a chance to play a lot of matches,” head coach Greg Davis said in a press release. “Samantha had a great weekend and won all of her singles and doubles matches and Rachel competed well in her first college tournament.”

All five WKU athletes who made the trip to the invitational took home at least one singles victory. Martinez and Laura Bernardos put together a perfect 2-0 record in doubles together.

WKU Tennis will close out its fall season on Oct. 8-10 at the Samford Invitational. Full results can be found below:
