Freshman Riley Grindstaff earned the Conference USA Golfer of the Week award on Wednesday after his top-15 performance at the Battle of Black Creek hosted by Chattanooga.
The freshman logged WKU’s top two scores of the week, shooting a 2-under 70 and a 3-under 69 in the first two rounds of the event. He shot a 4-over 76 in the final round of competition.
Grindstaff turned in two consecutive top-15 finishes to finish out the fall, three in total throughout the season. He is the first Hilltopper to log back-to-back top-15 finishes during the regular season since 2019.
The Franklin, Tennessee native is averaging 72.2 strokes over 15 rounds of collegiate competition, tied for the 5th-best mark in program history.
