WKU Men’s Basketball junior big man Jamarion Sharp is the Conference USA Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning.

Sharp averaged 12 points, 11.5 rebounds and six blocks in WKU’s two wins over Marshall. He shot 11-of-13 (84.6%) from the field, including a perfect 6-for-6 mark at Marshall in two games. Sharp’s 12 total blocks during the week helped him reclaim the country’s lead for total blocks at 142 and blocks per game at 4.6.

In the Hilltoppers’ regular season finale, the big man put up 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks in 32 minutes. Sharp scored 12 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked five shots in 30 minutes against Marshall on Wednesday night.

Three different Hilltoppers have earned the honor during the season, marking the first time in C-USA history a program has had three different players earn the honor since WKU had four different winners in 2019-20: Charles Bassey, Carson Williams, Taveion Hollingsworth and Jared Savage.

Marshall is the only other program to accomplish the feat when three different Thundering Herd athletes were named Player of the Week in the 2017-18 season.
