Men’s Basketball Coach Rick Stansbury is hosting a cookout to show appreciation for WKU students supporting the team.

“This is just mainly to say thanks,” Camron Justice, director of player development and video, said. “We know you’re here. We want to do something for you. And we want each and every one of you to come out.”

The basketball team, coaching staff, managers and graduate assistants will all be in attendance. It is their goal to make a more personal connection with WKU students.

“We want these students to know who they’re cheering for,” Justice said.

By hosting the event at his house, Coach Stansbury is hoping to help create this personal connection, Justice said.

“He just wanted it to feel more personable. He wanted these kids to know that we’re an open book,” Justice said.

Students are welcome to attend this cookout for free, hotdogs will be provided and a live DJ will be in attendance, the identity of whom is being kept a surprise.

The event is being hosted on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 3:30 p.m. To RSVP and receive the address, students can text Coach Camron Justice at (606)-634-0959.
