WKU Volleyball defeats New Mexico St in three sets

WKU Volleyball defeated New Mexico State University 3-0 on Oct. 13 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The Lady Toppers now hold a record of 17-4 on the season and are on a twelve game winning streak.

WKU won the first set 25-20. The Hilltoppers posted a .265 hitting percentage, 16 kills and 34 total attempts.

In the second set, WKU and NMSU competed closely. Ultimately, the Hilltoppers secured the win at 25-23. As a team, WKU carried a .129 hitting percentage, 12 kills and 31 total attemtps.

To close the match, WKU won the third set 25-19. In the final set, the Hilltoppers acquired their highest hitting percentage of the match at .278. They also put up 15 kills and 36 total attempts.

Individually, junior outside hitter Kaylee Cox led the team with 22 points, 20 kills and 11 digs.

Additionally, redshirt sophomore setter Callie Bauer had the strongest hitting percentage on the team at .500%. 

WKU will face New Mexico again Oct. 14 at 1p.m. CST in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
