WKU Volleyball swept New Mexico State University 3-0 on Oct. 14 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Hilltoppers now have an 18-4 season record and hold a 13 game win streak.
WKU shut out NMSU in both games of the two-game series. In the first match, WKU swept NMSU for the first time in program history.
WKU won the first set 25-16. They carried a .310 hitting percentage on 29 total attempts.Â
The Hilltoppers closed the second set at 25-15. They acquired a .257 hitting percentage with 35 attempts.
WKU clinched the match in the third set, taking it at 25-23. The team posted their highest set hitting percentage of the game at .324, 15 kills and 34 total attempts.
Once again, junior outside hitter Kaylee Cox led the team in kills with 23. Redshirt sophomore setter Callie Bauer was also a key player for the Hilltoppers, grabbing 33 assists in the match. Additionally, fifth year outside hitter Paige Briggs had nine digs on the day.
WKU will return to E.A. Diddle Arena Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. CST to face Sam Houston State University.
