The WKU Writing Center is hosting a horror story writing contest in light of Halloween.
The contest is open to all students, however stories submitted to the contest are limited to two sentences in length. The Writing Center encourages creativity within the length requirements.
Students may submit up to three stories but will only be eligible for one piece. The top three submissions will win a $10 gift card to Half Price Books and the top eight winners will win a free horror book. Grand prize winner will receive both the gift card and the free horror book.
The submission must be an original piece that in no more than two sentences in length and writer must include their first and last name as well as their #800 number on their submission. Winning stories will be posted to social media and by submitting a story there is an agreement to have the submitted name posted. If the writer wishes to go anonymous or by a pen name, that must be indicated on the submission.
Stories must be submitted to [email protected] using the subject line “Two Sentence Horror Story.” Submissions are due by midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
