The WKU Police Department is investigating a student death that occurred at Parking Structure 3 on Wednesday, according to WKUPD Chief Mitch Walker.
“Today, we lost a valuable member of the WKU family,” WKUPD said in a statement to the Herald. “We extend our deepest condolences to … family, loved ones and friends. In the wake of this tragedy, we encourage individuals in need of counseling to contact the WKU Counseling Center at 270-745-3159.”
“The death of any member of our WKU community is tragic and may be difficult to cope with,” WKU University Spokesperson Jace Lux said in a statement. “Processing such a loss can be overwhelming, and we want to remind students that the staff at the WKU Counseling Center is here to offer support during this time. Our thoughts are with the individual’s family, friends and loved ones as they navigate this painful loss.”
