The fall season feels, tastes and sounds different for everyone. Fall is a favored season for readers and writers.
Yes, I’m biased towards this season. Therefore, I’ve created a playlist that includes various genres that can fit with the aesthetic of the fall season and that I hope you will find inspiring. This playlist mixes upbeat, classical, and softer music to make a diverse playlist that changes your emotions faster than the leaves change colors.
If you’re like me, you enjoy melodies that make you feel like the main characters in a novel, and that’s what the included piano and violin pieces are for. Additionally, for the writers, the different genres can help gauge different emotions which can be helpful in your writing.
- “Chemtrails Over The Country Club” – Lana Del Rey
- “Sweater Weather” – The Neighbourhood
- “Out of My League” – Fitz and The Tantrums
- “Lady Lie” – Rainbow Kitten Surprise
- “we fell in love in october” – Girl In Red

- “Dinner & Diatribes” – Hozier
- “Can We Pretend That We’re Good-Piano Version” – Daniel Seavey

In addition, the following activities could be completed while listening to these songs: book annotation picnic, book club brunch get-together (fall themed of course), pumpkin decorating (make it bookish), and/or reading in fall aesthetic places.
I hope these songs either make reading feel like a dream, transcending you into different reading realms; or aid in creating someone’s future favorite story. Enjoy!
