WKU Men’s Basketball will return to Diddle Arena Saturday to take on the Kennesaw State Owls, looking to rebound after a 73-67 loss to Jacksonville State.
Senior guard Enoch Kalambay broke out against JSU with a career-high 24 points. Freshman guard Julius Thedford had 17 points with WKU’s leading scorer, graduate guard Don McHenry, being held to just eight.
The Hilltoppers must improve their shooting if they want to make noise in Conference USA. After their Jacksonville state loss, they dropped to 1-2 in conference play.
They shot 30.8% from the three against JSU, their first time over 30% since their Dec. 21 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan. The Hilltoppers shot below 40% from the field in consecutive CUSA losses, shooting 32% against JSU.
The Owls are coming off an 84-79 loss to the Middle Tennesee State Blue Raiders. Freshman Guard Adrian Wooley led the Owls with 24 points and five defensive rebounds.
Junior Guard Simeon Cottle leads the Owls this year averaging 18.6 points while 6-foot-6 Freshman Guard Jamil Miller leads the team in rebounds, averaging 6.3 per game.
