On Monday, February 10, WKU’s History Club and Jennifer Hanley’s History 498: Senior Seminar class engaged in Vintage Board Game Night, an evening spent examining the past through the pop culture medium of decades-old board games. “This is an example of material culture…by playing these games, you can get a sense of gender roles; you can get ideas about class, race, sexuality, race…so basically I want them to look at it through a critical lens,” Hanley said.
