WKU Women’s Basketball’s guard duo of junior Josie Gilvin and sophomore Mackenzie Chatfield have entered their names in the transfer portal according to Talia Goodman of on3.com.
Gilvin was a spark off the bench in her freshman and sophomore campaigns, averaging 18.6 minutes between the two years. Gilvin averaged just four points in her first two seasons, appearing in every game but starting just 13 over the two years.
Gilvin had a career season her junior year, becoming a perennial starter. Gilvin averaged 13.1 points per game, and led the Lady Toppers in rebounds and steals with 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game. Gilvin was named to the second-team all-conference and all-defensive team.
In Chatfield’s freshman campaign in the 2023-2024 season, she played in just 21 of the team’s 32 games. She averaged 5.8 minutes and 0.9 points per game in just five games.
Chatfield saw her numbers improve in her sophomore campaign, appearing in all but one game, and starting in eight. Chatfield averaged 19.9 minutes, 5.8 points and 2.4 assists per game.
