Students host benefit concert for Haiti

Jordan Allen and the Bellwethers will be performing at the Faculty House Sept. 29, at 8 p.m. in a benefit concert for Haitian children.

Bowling Green senior Molli Guelde and Bowling Green senior Leah Hamm have traveled to Haiti several times and wanted a way to give back to the country. This led them to organize this concert, they said.

“Espwa means ‘hope’ in Haitian Creole. We want to bring hope to the impoverished children of Haiti by giving them the gift of education,” Guelde said.

Jordan Allen and the Bellwethers describe themselves as “an Americana-Folk group from London, KY that blends the musical stylings of the banjo, acoustic guitar, cello, bass guitar and three-part harmony.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $7, or at the door for $8.
