WKU has released its full basketball schedule for the 2017-18 regular season.

The schedule includes 18 home games at E.A. Diddle Arena (including two exhibitions), a trip to the Bahamas, and five games against 20-win teams from last season.

“This is a very challenging schedule with a lot of good home games and great opportunities on the road against some of the better teams in the country,” head coach Rick Stansbury said in a press release. “Hopefully, the mixture of both will help prepare our team for conference play and give our fans an opportunity to create an exciting home atmosphere by selling out Diddle Arena.”

WKU’s trip to the Bahamas will be for the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, where they’ll play Villanova University, the NCAA’s National Champion just two seasons ago. The University of Tennessee, Purdue University, Southern Methodist University, the University of Arizona, North Carolina State and the University of Northern Iowa will also be competing in the Battle 4 Atlantis.

WKU will also play the University of Wisconsin this year on Dec. 13. The Badgers were a 27-win team a season ago, and finished the year ranked in the top 30 of the Ratings Percentage Index.

The cross-state rivalry between WKU and Eastern Kentucky University will be renewed once again. WKU will host EKU on Nov. 29. The Hilltoppers lead the all-time series, 112-44.

WKU has seven home games and three neutral-site games before finally going on the road. Their first away game will be against Ohio University in Athens, Ohio on Dec. 10.

Conference-USA play will start on Dec. 28 against Louisiana Tech. The schedule also details the dates of the C-USA Tournament, which will take place from March 7-10 in Frisco, Texas.

WKU also has three opponents that the program has never faced before: Missouri State University, Nicholls State University and Wright State University.

Senior day will be Saturday, Feb. 24, when the Hilltoppers take on Old Dominion in the final home game of the season.
