The Toppers first matchup in Conference USA comes against an all too familiar opponent, Middle Tennessee State, in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Sept. 13. The last meeting between the two schools happened in 2012 when the Blue Raiders left Smith Stadium with a 34-29 victory.

Alabama-Birmingham will be WKU’s first C-USA opponent at Smith Stadium on Oct. 4. WKU coach Jeff Brohm served as offensive coordinator at UAB in 2012 while new WKU offensive coordinator Tyson Helton coached running backs.

The Toppers will hold a three-game home stand through November against UTEP, Army, and the last home game of the year against UTSA.

WKU will wrap up the season on Friday, Nov. 28 at Marshall.

Along with WKU in the East Division of C-USA is Florida-International, Florida Atlantic, Marshall, MTSU, Old Dominion and UAB. The West Division is compiled of Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Rice, Southern Miss, UTEP and UTSA.
