This dystopian film is a biting satire and a scathing take on class and race. Lakeith Stanfield stars as Cassius, a man trying to work his way up the corporate ladder in a society where people like tech giant Steve Lift rule over people with the promise of food and money for the small price of a lifetime of servitude. A.O. Scott, writing for The New York Times, says of the film’s director, “Mr. Riley is not sorry at all.
