WKU’s Wessel named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week

Junior outside hitter Paige Wessel was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday after her impressive .414 hitting percentage in the WKU Tournament. 

Wessel posted 12 kills in a win over Dayton and a season-high five blocks against IUPUI. 

She was named to the all-tournament team along with teammate Melanie Stutsman.

Wessel leads the team in hitting percentage with .368 and is currently second on the team in kills with 97. 

Over nine games this season, her hitting percentage has been higher than .300.

Wessel and the Lady Toppers will take on Lipscomb at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Diddle Arena.
