The Preseason polls were announced Wednesday and WKU was picked to finish third in Sun Belt Conference’s East Division.

Florida Atlantic was selected first with 11 votes and Middle Tennessee State was picked to finish second with one first place vote.

WKU also did not see any players named to the Preseason all-Conference teams. Since the Sun Belt began recognizing Preseason all-Conference players in the 2002-2003 season, WKU has had at least one First Team member at the end of the season.

Last season, Sergio Kerusch and Steffphon Pettigrew were named to the First Team. WKU was also picked to finish first in the Preseason Polls last season with Kerusch being named the Preseason Conference Player of the Year.

South Alabama’s Augustine Rubit was named the Preseason Conference Player of the Year.

Arkansas State was picked to win the West Division with eight votes and Louisiana-Lafayette was selected second with two votes. North Texas and Denver were picked to finish second and third respectively with one first place vote apiece.
