WKU’s third football Family Fun Day will be from 4-6 p.m. Aug. 27 at Smith Stadium.

The event, hosted by WKU’s Touchdown Club, is free for everyone, but the first 500 will get free Pepsi products and popcorn.

For anyone who comes too late for the free refreshments, concession stands and water stations will be provided, said WKU Marketing Director Lindsay Thomas.

All WKU football players and coaches will be on hand to sign autographs for an hour and a half, and Thomas said free autographed cards will be available.

The women’s soccer team will also be at Family Fun Day for the first time to do a clinic and autograph session.

“It gives our community an opportunity to come out and meet our players and see that they’re not just big, mean guys — that they have a soft heart too,” Head Coach Willie Taggart said after last year’s Family Fun Day. “It also helps our players to know our community and make them realize there are other people out there really counting on them.”

A “fun zone” — which will consist of about six or seven inflatables — will be at the stadium. Thomas said the fun zone will have an obstacle course designed for adults.

ESPN Radio 1450 will be doing live remote broadcast. The official Punt Pass and Kick contest will take place at Family Fun Day as well.

Kids can sign up to enter the contest, and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications Todd Stewart said winners of this contest will go on to further Punt Pass and Kick contests and could potentially be featured at halftime of an NFL game.
