Nigel Snipes, a three-star forward from Marietta, Ga., told the Herald on Friday that he has committed to WKU.

Snipes, a new target on Head Coach Ken McDonald’s radar, visited WKU for Hilltopper Hysteria and said he came to a quick decision after Friday’s event.

“Western Kentucky is a great place,” Snipes said. “I feel like I can succeed here.”

According to Rivals.com, Snipes holds offers from West Virginia, Morehead State and Florida International, among a handful of others.

The 6-5 forward is the fifth reported commitment to WKU’s 2011 class. He joins Cezar Guerrero, Derrick Gordon, Deng Leek and George Fant.

Guerrero, a four-star point guard from St. John Bosco (Calif.), also gave his verbal pledge to WKU on Friday.
