Two members of the WKU baseball team were arrested last Saturday on charges of public intoxication.

Sophomore pitcher Taylor Haydel and senior outfielder Kory Petri were arrested in the Chestnut lot and, according to the Warren County Jail, released from custody later that day.

Neither Haydel nor Petri will have to appear in court.

WKU Senior Associate Athletic Director Todd Stewart released a statement on Thursday saying,” We are aware of the charges. This is being handled internally.”

Haydel, a native of Mount Juliet, Tenn., made 21 appearances last season, going 3-4 with a 6.94 ERA in 2009.

Petri, a Lexington native, held a .248 average in 40 games played in 2009. Petri started 35 of those games.
