The Lady Toppers secured their second victory in the WKU Tournament in Diddle Arena on Saturday.

WKU (7-3) came away with a 3-1 (25-13, 21-25, 26-24, 25-13) win against Tennessee Tech after falling in their first match to Virginia Tech, then winning their next against No. 27 Missouri the day before.

Tennessee Tech (2-9) exchanged the lead with the Lady Toppers only twice in the four-set match.

In the first set, WKU jumped out to an early lead and managed to keep a defecit of at least 10 points over the Golden Eagles for the majority of the set.

When Tech rallied back in the second and narrowly lost in the third set, it was the Lady Toppers’ fourth set that closed the door.

During that time junior middle hitter Tiffany Elmore had back-to-back kills along with senior outside hitter Emily Teegarden that allowed WKU to pull away.

Elmore and company finished with a combined 61 kills, 40 digs and a .344 hitting percentage.

The Lady Toppers finish the WKU Tournament against Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. Saturday.
