WKU Baseball (24-24), (14-14, C-USA) has clinched a spot in the 2021 Conference USA Baseball Championship. The Hilltoppers join No. 14 Louisiana Tech, No. 17 Southern Miss, No. 19 Charlotte, No. 23 Old Dominion and the Florida Atlantic Owls as the teams that have secured a berth in the tournament.

“I’m really proud of this group for being one of the first six teams to qualify for the 2021 C-USA Baseball Championship,” head coach John Pawlowski said in a press release. “It certainly has been a challenging journey to get to this point in the season and now we have a chance to play for a championship.”

The Hilltoppers still have their final conference series against no. 23 Old Dominion (33-13), (19-9, C-USA) in Norfolk, Virginia on May 14-16 and a matchup against Eastern Kentucky to close the season on May 18. Once those five games are up, the Hilltoppers will turn their attention to the Championship, hosted by LA Tech (33-12), (19-7, C-USA) in Ruston, Louisiana on May 26-30.

WKU has now qualified for back-to-back tournaments (2019, 2021). There was no tournament in 2020 due to COVID-19. It is the second time the Hilltoppers have made the field since joining C-USA in 2015.
