WKU Athletics set a new program record on Thursday when Conference USA announced that 66 Hilltopper student-athletes had received the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal, an honor that recognizes student-athletes that kept a 3.75 GPA or higher throughout the 2020-21 academic year.

Student-athletes from all 14 of WKU’s sport programs were recognized. The previous program record of honorees was 56, set back in 2015. 20% of WKU’s student-athletes received the honor. The mark was a 47% increase over the 2019-20 academic year.

208 WKU student-athletes had previously been named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll on Wednesday, an honor given to students who maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher, another program-best. The full list of Academic Medal winners can be found here.
