The bracket for the 2021 NCAA Softball Tournament was released on Sunday evening. WKU (31-13), (10-6, C-USA) earned an automatic bid to the tournament regionals with its 13-4 victory against the UAB Blazers in the Conference USA Championship title game on Saturday.

WKU Softball held a viewing party in Diddle Arena for the bracket selection show. The Hilltoppers found out that they will compete in the Athens Regional along with no. 13 Duke, UNC Greensboro and Georgia. WKU’s first taste of tournament action will come against the Bulldogs in Athens, Georgia on May 21 at 1:30 p.m. CT.

The Hilltoppers will find themselves in familiar territory as they faced Georgia in Athens the last time they made the tournament in 2015, going 1-2 against their SEC opponent.

WKU is the lone representative of C-USA in the tournament. Five teams that the Hilltoppers faced in the 2021 regular season qualified for the tournament (no. 4 Florida, no. 14 Kentucky, Mississippi State, EKU, Kennesaw State) and the team compiled a 2-5 record against those programs.

The full bracket can be found here.
