Lady Toppers to join 2021 Preseason WNIT
June 10, 2021
The Lady Topper basketball organization will be competing in the 2021 Preseason WNIT, the organization announced on Thursday. The event will be played in mid-November and participating teams will play three games each at a host site.
The event will look a little different this year as the WNIT will not be structured as a tournament. Instead, the event will consist of two four-team pods playing each other in a round-robin format. NC State and Kansas State will serve as the two hosts.
WKU will be placed in the same pod as Kansas State. The Hilltoppers will face North Carolina A&T on Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. CT and will play the Wildcats on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. CT. WKU will conclude the event by playing UT Martin on Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. CT.
This is the fifth time the Hilltoppers have played in the WNIT in program history. The last time WKU competed in the event was in 2014-15, going 3-1 in the tournament.
