Former Hilltopper Hollingsworth signs with Austrian team Arkadia Traiskirchen

Former Hilltopper Taveion Hollingsworth will be added to the roster of the Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions, a European basketball club based out of Traiskirchen, Austria.

The program announced on Aug. 4 via social media that Hollingsworth will be the newest player to wear a Lions jersey and will be a good fit for the team according to coach Nenad Josipovic.

“We proudly present – Taveion Hollingsworth. The 22-year-old American is not only the first player we are presenting here, but also a preferred candidate for coach Nenad Josipovic,” the organization announced via facebook.

Hollingsworth played four seasons of collegiate basketball as a Hilltopper, starting in all 29 games during the 2020-21 season and breaking the program’s record for consecutive starts (131). Hollingsworth additionally broke the record for consecutive minutes played with 4,524 total minutes.

Hollingsworth was vital to the Hilltoppers’ success, averaging 13.9 points per game during his career for a total of 1,896, scoring a career-high 43 points against Louisiana Tech on Feb. 27, 2020. As a senior he was named to the All-C-USA Second Team as well as the C-USA Preseason Team. As a junior, Hollingsworth was named to the All-C-USA Preseason Team as well.
