The Lady Toppers successfully closed out their fall season this past weekend at the Samford Round Robin in Birmingham, Alabama. WKU competed against the host Bulldogs as well as Memphis, Troy and UAB.

The duo of Paola Cortez and Cora-Lynn von Dungern led the way in doubles play, finishing with a perfect 3-0 record.

“I thought we finished the fall on a positive note today,” head coach Greg Davis said in a press release. “We had some very good singles wins and another great doubles performance out of Cora and Paola who were undefeated this weekend as a team.”

Taylor Shaw and von Dungern both went 2-1 in singles play while Cortez, Sofia Blanco and Alexis Cramer all claimed a win over the weekend.

“I think our depth is a strong point of this team,” Davis said. All seven players who traveled to Birmingham picked up at least one singles or doubles win.

Over three tournaments this fall – the Samford Round Robin, Butler Invitational and UC/Pam Whitehead Invitational – the Lady Toppers finished with a winning 26-22 record in singles and a 10-12 record in doubles. WKU Tennis’s 2022 spring schedule will be released within the coming weeks.
