The WKU Police Department is currently investigating an anonymous post on social media that threatened a shooting near Pearce Ford Tower at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Dominic Ossello, Captain of Field Operations, said in an email to all WKU students that the person of interest is in police custody.

The threat originated on Yik Yak, an anonymous messaging app, but has since been deleted.

Police cars were on the scene outside of PFT and a pair of officers stood guard outside of Douglas Keen Hall. They were unable to give any updates to the Herald at this time.

WKU police plan to increase patrol on the south end of campus.

Contact WKU PD at 270-745-COPS with any information.
