WKU Softball dropped a low-scoring contest against the no. 19 Indiana Hoosiers 3-0 Tuesday, April 4 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The Hilltoppers offense largely struggled against sophomore pitcher Brianna Copeland. Copeland pitched five innings and allowed no runs en route to her 13th victory of the season.

Senior Katie Gardner pitched all seven innings for the Hilltoppers and put together a solid performance that kept the Hilltoppers in the game. Gardner allowed three runs on six hits through seven innings.

The majority of the game lacked a lot of action as the only runs in the contest were scored in the first two innings.

Indiana started the scoring with an RBI single in the first to take an early 1-0 lead.

The following inning, the Hoosiers extended their lead to 3-0 with a two-run home run.

The only inning the Hilltoppers put together a threat of scoring was the fifth when WKU recorded back-to-back singles, but ultimately failed to score.

Following the loss to the Hoosiers, the Hilltoppers will be heading to take on the UTSA Roadrunners in a three-game series April 6-8.
