WKU Tennis ends season at C-USA Championship

Rachel Hermanova, freshman and #4 singles seed, lost her match against UTC player Emma Van Hee on Sunday, February 27th. WKU Women’s Tennis won their match against UT Chattanooga overall 4-3.

WKU Tennis closed their season on a 4-3 loss against rival Middle Tennessee State University in the Conference USA Championship, April 20 in Denton, Texas. 

 

MTSU began witha hot start collecting the doubles point after the first two doubles matches.

 

WKU was able to  jump back into the lead. Sophomore Rachel Hermanova, sophomore Mariana Zegada and redshirt-sophomore Sayda Hernandez all won their singles game giving the Lady Toppers a 3-1 advantage.

 

However, the Blue Raiders collected the final three singles points, sending the Lady Toppers back home 4-3.   

 

Despite the disappointing end to the season, the Lady Toppers had an outstanding campaign. WKU won 15 matches, third-most in program history. WKU’s 15-11 record is also the best in Head Coach Greg Davis’ career.
