WKU Volleyball enters 2023 season with top 25 ranking

WKU Volleyball gears up for a new season with a top 25 American Volleyball Coaches Association preseason ranking. The decorated team sits at No. 24 in the rankings.

The Hilltoppers finished their 2022 season with a loss to Kentucky in the NCAA tournament. WKU held an overall record of 29-4 with an undefeated conference run.

WKU met the No. 10 Wildcats again on Aug. 17 in a preseason exhibition game, losing 1-3.

WKU dives into the new season with four new additions, freshman middle hitter Gabby Weihe, freshman middle hitter Izzy Van De Wiele and freshman outside, redshirt freshman middle hitter Logan Grevengoed, and junior outside hitter Kaylee Cox

Fans will also see some familiar faces on the court, including middle hitter Shannon Keck and defensive specialist Cameron Mosley returning for their senior seasons.

On the 2023 schedule, the Hilltoppers will face three AVCA preseason top 25 ranked teams. WKU will meet No. 8 Penn State on Sept. 1 and No. 25 Arkansas Sept. 8.

WKU will open their 2023 season by competing against No.12 Marquette at the Dayton Invitational On Aug. 25 at 10 a.m.
