WKU is set to unveil its new Soccer/Softball complex this upcoming Thursday. The event, which will be held at 10 a.m., will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony, open to the public.
The facility, which broke ground just over a year ago, will provide an impact for the Lady Topper soccer and softball teams, and give them a facility to call home.
The new building, located directly between the soccer and softball fields, will house locker rooms for both teams. The soccer team has found their locker room home in Houchens-Smith Stadium, home of WKU Football, while the softball team has shared their locker room with the Men’s Basketball team in Diddle Arena.
When the construction of the building was started, WKU president, Timothy Caboni, claimed that the updated complex was critical for the success of the two programs.
“This will be a space that provides [the soccer and softball teams] the accommodations and the resources they deserve to practice, to compete, and most importantly to win and represent WKU.” Caboni said.
The new complex is located at 1777 Creason St., Bowling Green, KY 42101. Parking will also be provided in Creason Lot.
