WKU Men’s Basketball will look to rebound in Conference USA play against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Thursday after a rough loss in the “100 Miles of Hate” rivalry at Middle Tennessee State.
Since entering conference play, the Hilltoppers have struggled to get shots through the rim. Following their best shooting game of conference play against Kennesaw State, they shot just 33% from the field and 20% from three against the Blue Raiders.
Graduate guard Don McHenry led the Hilltoppers against MTSU with 16 points, shooting just 1-8 from three and 31% from the field.
The Bulldogs are coming off a two-game skid, losing consecutive two-point games against Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State.
Senior Forward Daniel Batcho leads the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 18 a game and putting up 23 against Kennesaw State. Much of LA Tech’s scoring comes from the paint. Batcho shot 53% from the paint with 7 rebounds versus the Owls.
The Hilltoppers could struggle to stop their offense with the continued absence of starting forward, Babacar Faye. Freshman guard Julius Thedford and Faye are questionable for the rest of the season.
This will be WKU’s first game since Thedford was injured at MTSU.
