The WKU Sigma Nu Fraternity chapter is under investigation and on interim suspension due to an incident that caused injuries to two of its members.
Christopher Brenton, Sigma Nu Fraternity Inc. director of communications, said the incident occurred in November at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park where the members “were injured in a fall.”
“In keeping with standard protocol, the chapter was placed on a temporary suspension of activities pending the completion of applicable follow-up related to the November accident,” Brenton said.
The suspension prohibits the chapter from participating in all activities – including spring recruitment, according to Andrew Rash, WKU Student Activities associate director. Rash said he was unavailable to provide additional information due to the ongoing investigation regarding the incident.
“The Fraternity is in close communication with WKU officials, student leaders, and alumni advisors,” Brenton said.
Previously, Sigma Nu was put on interim suspension twice during the 2020-21 academic year.
