WKU women’s basketball’s win Wednesday night versus Louisiana Tech marked the 100th win for Head Coach Greg Collins.
At the final buzzer, the team met at mid-court to celebrate the occasion, dumping a Gatorade tub of confetti on Collins.
“We’ve been waiting for that (100th win),” Sophomore guard Josie Gilvin said. “We’ve been waiting to throw the confetti, so it was good it happened tonight.”
When asked postgame about his 100th win, Collins blew it off.
“I’m just glad to win period,” Collins said. “I don’t care if it’s one hundred or one but really it’s just another game and I’m thankful to win it.”
Coach went on to talk about the frustration with finally getting a win, with the team’s last win being Jan. 20 versus UTEP.
“We’re sitting here at 14-10 and it’s frustrating because I feel like as a team, we can be better than that and I’m thankful for the win.” Collins said.
Collins, the 11th coach in Lady Topper program history, is in his sixth season as head coach. Before taking over the program, Collins spent time on the staff as an assistant and as an associate head coach.
