WKU Women’s Basketball will take on the Middle Tennessee State Lady Raiders in the semifinals of the CUSA tournament Friday.
The Lady Toppers are coming off a Thursday quarterfinal win over Florida International 73-66. Senior guard Alexis Mead led the way in the win with 21 points, nine assists and six rebounds.
The Lady Toppers are led by Mead and junior guard Josie Gilvin. Mead leads the team in points and assists, with 13.5 points per game and 4.2 assists. Gilvin is second in points for the Lady Toppers with 13.1 points per game and leads the team in rebounds with 6.1 rebounds per game.
The Lady Toppers and MTSU met twice in the regular season where they split the series. Most recently, MTSU got the better of WKU 73-63.
MTSU is coming off a quarterfinal win of their own, taking down Kennesaw State 73-46. MTSU is led by the duo of junior guard Ta’mia Scott, and CUSA defensive player of the year, senior center Anastasiia Boldyreva.
Scott leads the way averaging 16.6 points per game, and is second in rebounds with 6.5 rebounds. Boldyreva contributes 15 points per game and nearly a double-double with 9.8 rebounds.
The game is set for 8 P.M. on ESPN+.
