WKU Women’s basketball will open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 4 against Indiana State following a dominant win in an exhibition game against Lee University.
The Hilltoppers are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2023 season in which they went 15-17 overall and a mere 6-10 in conference. However, the Hilltoppers have had success recently, making the Conference USA championship game the year before.
This confidence is further fueled by the preseason Conference USA poll, in which the Hilltoppers were ranked fourth to begin the season.
The Lady Toppers have nine newcomers for the 2024 season, including Mya Pratcher, a former Auburn recruit, and Zsofia Telegy, a former starter at Kansas.
Along with the newcomers, WKU brings back four starters from last year’s team. Preseason All-CUSA guard Alexis Mead returns to bring some leadership to the team along with leading scorer Acacia Hayes.
This talent will have to compete with a difficult schedule to begin the season, with trips to Kentucky and the Maui Classic, which includes Oregon State and Nevada.
