WKU Athletic Director Todd Stewart announced at the WKU Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony Saturday that WKU Volleyball Head Coach Travis Hudson will receive a life-size statue in the fall of 2025.
Alongside Ed Diddle, Hudson will become the second person in the history of WKU Athletics to receive a statue, Stewart said.
“The victories, championships and NCAA Torunaments speak for themselves, but beyond that, the personal impact he has had on his players and everyone associated with the volleyball program is exemplary,” Stewart said in a press release from WKU Athletics.
Hudson is in his 30th season as head coach of WKU Volleyball. According to a press release, Hudson has led the Hilltoppers to 33 conference championships and 16 NCAA Tournament appearances.
“It is impossible to put into words what an incredible honor this is to me and our family,” Hudson said in a press release from WKU Athletics. “I have a deep love for WKU and am beyond proud to be woven into the history of this very special place in this manner.”
The location of the statue will be “announced at a future date,” a press release stated.
