WKU Women’s Basketball will look to keep up their momentum on their road trip Saturday as they travel to take on Kennesaw State.
The Lady Toppers are fresh off a road win over Jacksonville State, which gave the team their first Conference USA win and snapped a two-game losing streak. WKU now sits at 10-5 on the season with a 1-2 record in conference play.
The team is led by committee, with four different Lady Toppers averaging double figures. Senior guard Alexis Mead leads the way, averaging 14 points a game, followed closely by graduate guard Destiny Salary with 12.6 points per game. WKU has had six different leading scorers through the first 15 games.
The Lady Toppers are dominant on the defensive end, averaging 12.4 steals per game, the 19th-best rate in the country. Three different Lady Toppers are top-10 in steals per game in the CUSA. Mead leads the conference, averaging 2.87 steals a game for the season.
KSU is coming off a loss to Middle Tennessee State, which brought the Owls’ overall record to 5-8. Three-time CUSA Player of the Week Prencis Harden leads the team, averaging 16.9 points and 10.6 rebounds a game.
Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and the game can be seen on ESPN+.
