With a win over the Florida International University Panthers Thursday, WKU Women’s basketball clinched the third seed in the Conference USA tournament in Huntsville, Alabama.
The Lady Toppers had a chance to move to second in the CUSA if Liberty lost its final two games, but a Flames win over Middle Tennessee State on Thursday night forfeited that possibility.
This is the highest seed for the Lady Toppers in the CUSA tournament since the 2023 season when they received the second seed. This is the third time in the Head Coach Greg Collins era that the Lady Toppers have earned the third seed or better.
The Hilltoppers are looking for the first CUSA tournament championship in the Collins era, and their first since the 2018 season.
WKU will play on Thursday, March 13 at 2 p.m., and will have its possible opponents after the games on Saturday have concluded.
