The WKU Invitational sets off this weekend as the Lady Toppers welcome three teams to E.A. Diddle Arena. 

This weekend, the Lady Toppers and their six fresh faces will face a Friday doubleheader against Wright State and Loyola-Chicago. WKU will finish the weekend Saturday against Drake. 

“I promise you, we’re playing at a pretty high level around here, and that’s what all three of these programs can say as well,” Head Coach Travis Hudson said.

This is the first time the Lady Toppers will face Wright State since 2013. The Lady Toppers have dropped four of the six meetings in the series. However, WKU has taken the last two games in consecutive sweeps.

The team will also compete against Loyola-Chicago on Friday. The Ramblers come off a historic season, winning the A-10 Championship. 

This will be the sixth meeting between the Ramblers and the Lady Toppers. WKU defeated Loyola-Chicago 3-1 last season to take the third straight meeting.  

The Lady Toppers face Drake on Saturday to wrap up the Invitational. The Bulldogs have never beaten the Lady Toppers in their three meetings.

“[They are] three great programs, three quality coaches,” Hudson said.

This is the first time the Lady Toppers will start their season off at home since 2020.
